Gas Flame-Failure Control Valve with 600mm Thermocouple and Knob

This complete gas control valve kit combines a flame-failure safety valve, 600mm thermocouple and durable Bakelite control knob. It is suitable for compatible low-pressure gas appliances such as grills, patio heaters, fire pits and fireplaces.

The safety system is designed to interrupt the gas supply if the thermocouple is no longer heated by the pilot flame, helping provide controlled and dependable appliance operation.

Basic Operating Principle

After ignition, the control knob is normally pressed and held for approximately 5–10 seconds. This allows the flame to heat the thermocouple and activate the flame-safety mechanism.

Once the thermocouple has reached the required temperature, the knob can be released. If the flame goes out or the thermocouple cools, the valve is designed to shut off the gas supply.

If the Valve Does Not Stay Open

Check that:

• The thermocouple tip is positioned correctly in the flame

• The flame remains in direct contact with the thermocouple

• The M8 × 1 thermocouple connection is correctly tightened

• The inlet and outlet fittings are secure

• The valve and thermocouple threads are compatible

• The correct gas pressure and appliance configuration are being used
